Florida is known for its beautiful weather and its theme parks. It has plenty more to offer than those of course, which is why so many people head here each year to have the holiday of a lifetime.

One of the key places you should go to is Busch Gardens. This is a great mix of roller coasters, water rides and all the other thrills you would expect to find in a traditional theme park. But it also has plenty of different animals you’d normally see in a zoo as well. This provides a heady combination of thrills and delights that all the family will love.

You will soon see that you can get closer to many of the animals than you may have been able to in other locations in the past. For example when you locate the tigers you will see there is a glass wall which separates you from them. So you won’t have to peer around bars from a distance to try and get a glimpse of them. They can literally get as close to you as you would ever like them to get – just a few centimetres away at most.

In fact the tiger enclosure has a glass pod which pops up in the middle of their lair. This gives you a great view of them and makes you feel as if you are in their space – perhaps not the most settling feeling you will ever have!

It is a small wonder the kids love it as much as the adults do. The Edge of Africa exhibit enables you to walk around on a foot safari, coming closer to the animals as you do. You can also sample the Serengeti by taking a train or a truck to get around the area in the closest thing to a real safari in the US.

But there are big rides here for you to sample as well. If you’ve got the head for heights and the nerve for a roller coaster, try out the SheiKra coaster for size. You’ll find yourself two hundred feet up in the air and waiting to go over the drop that takes you back down almost to the ground again before going round in a loop.

There are other rides here too, like the Congo River Rapids and Stanley Falls. The latter is a log flume with a forty foot drop packed in for good measure. You can also try the classic wooden Gwazi roller coaster too.

As you can see there is a lot to do at Busch Gardens. It provides a fantastic day out for many people enjoying holidays in Florida. If you are thinking of going there soon, make sure you add this attraction to your list of must see destinations.
