Membuat Favicon

Favicon adalah kependekan dari favorites icon. Web browser menggunakannya di bar URL, pada tab, dan di tempat lain untuk membantu mengidentifikasi sebuah website secara visual.

Favicon biasanya merupakan sebuah gambar berukuran 16 x 16 piksel dan akan disimpan dengan nama favicon.ico di root direktori server. Anda dapat menggunakan favicon dengan WordPress blog di web server yang memungkinkan akses ke root direktori.

Favicon dapat dengan mudah dibuat dengan menggunakan program grafis apapun yang memungkinkan menyimpan file dengan ekstensi .ico, seperti The GIMP. Ada juga layanan online yang akan memungkinkan Anda untuk membuat favicon secara gratis.

Gambar harus jelas dan biasanya dirancang untuk menyesuaikan gambaran blog / atau konten blog. Sebuah tugas besar untuk sesuatu yang begitu kecil.

Mempersiapkan gambar yang akan disimpan sebagai favicon.ico:

Dengan cropping atau menambah ruang di sekitar gambar, buat gambar persegi.
Ubah ukuran gambar menjadi 16 x 16 piksel.
Simpan file dengan nama favicon.ico.

Jika menggunakan layanan online untuk membuat favicon, seperti favicon.co.uk, ikuti petunjuk yang disediakan. Kemudian download file gambar favicon.ico ke komputer Anda.

Instalasi Favicon di WordPress

Jika sudah ada file favicon.ico dalam folder utama theme, hapus menggunakan FTP Clients.

Dengan menggunakan FTP Client, upload file favicon.ico baru ke dalam folder utama theme saat ini.
Upload salinan lain file favicon.ico ke direktori utama (mis. http://example.com/favicon.ico). Ini akan menampilkan favicon pada pelanggan ‘feedreaders Anda.

Agar favicon muncul di beberapa browser lama, perlu untuk mengedit halaman header.

Masuk ke WordPress Administration Panel Anda.
Klik pada Design (disebut Presentation versi WordPress 2.3.x dan di bawahnya, dan Appearance di WordPress 2.7 +).
Klik pada Theme Editor.
Pilih file bernama Header atau header.php untuk mengedit file.
Cari baris kode yang diawali dengan <link rel="shortcut icon" dan yang diakhiri /favicon.ico" />. Timpa itu, jika ada, atau jika tidak ditemukan, tambahkan kode berikut di bawah tag HTML <head>.
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" />
Simpan perubahan.

Untuk melihat segera favicon baru Anda, hapus WP-Cache dan cache browser. Anda mungkin perlu me-restart browser Anda agar dapat melihat favicon baru.
